Pastimes of Ganesh Chaturthi no. 8
Once Child Ganesha, diverted himself in-tormenting a cat, pulling its tail and rolling it up and down. After few minutes, he left it and went away. He never thought about what he had done to cat. He arrived to Kailash mountain to meet his mother Parvati.
He found her suffering badly with wounds and dust. He asked her what happened and she replied that he was solely responsible for this situation. Indeed it was the cat who was tormented by Ganesha his mother had to face the consequences of hurting the cat. This teaches us that all living beings are of divine importance. If we hurt any living being we hurt God himself. Ganesha learned a lesson and we everyone must also learn this.
